The art of teaching gymnastics development is essentially easy. The challenge lies in teaching children to develop and exhibit the confidence to achieve, not only gymnastic skills, but also overcome the many other obstacles they will face. I teach for those moments where a child confidently says, ʻI can do itʼ and ʻI did it!ʼ.”

Favorite Component about Teaching Gymnastics:

“I have two great passions in life - sports and teaching. Coaching gymnastics is the perfect blend. The basic skills of gymnastics are oftentimes simple to teach and to learn. Bringing together those skills is the challenging aspect, for this is where the greatest risks lie - risk of failure, risk of injury, risk of burning out. However, this is also where the greatest rewards lie - performing a perfect floor routine, sticking a landing, perfecting a dismount. When a student realizes that they have finally pulled it all together, they are overcome with pride and excitement. Those are the moments I teach for, and those are the moments when Iʼm most proud.”
